With a positive aim to revive water transport in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir’s water transport authorities have invested in the first imported luxury boat that would be used to cruise on the waters of the Jhelum river. Even though the Dal lake is famed to be the showstopper of the union territory, the Jhelum River, finding its source from the Verinag Spring, is originally famed as Vitatsa and is no less, with its breathtaking beauty and various tributaries flowing through it all . To further promote the decade old water transport culture, the luxury bus boat imported from New Zealand promises to etch a truly unforgettable experience on the minds of its visitors which promises to further lure tourists from all around the globe into Srinagar. This 30 seater luxury boat has been introduced to boost water tourism on the Jhelum River and revive Kashmir’s true cultural heritage and identity. Currently undergoing trials under strict orders of the authorities, this luxury boat reportedly comes with a sprawling TV, full air- conditioning, music- system and so much more alongside a quaint conference space reserved for 10 to 12 people for any meetings or gatherings that could be conducted inside with stunning scenic views of the hills and valleys that adorn Jhelum River all around. It surely is a very beautiful and flexible means for tourists to cruise along Jhelum but this luxurious bus boat can also be used by the locals of the area as a faster and comparatively an eco- friendlier mode of transport in order to avoid Srinagar’s usual traffic congestion. This luxurious fibreglass boat will come with all the necessary amenities and have 7 stops at Veer Chattabal, Khankahi Moula, Amira Kadal, Polo View, Peerzo, Rajbagh and Pantha Chowk which promises to entice its tourists with the real beauty that Jammu and Kashmir beholds.

A tour package from Mumbai to Kashmir has been launched by the IRCTC at a very affordable starting range of just 27300 INR.
Gulmarg is an extremely scenic town located in the Pir Panjal Range at the Western part of the Himalayas and is one of the most popular ski resorts in India. It is an alluring place that houses pastoral scenes, flower meadows and alpine forests which surrounds itself with deep ravines, forested valleys and snow- capped peaks and is also known as the ‘Meadow of Flowers’. As the skiing destination for adventure enthusiasts to slide down the open slopes, words cannot describe the exuberant experience this place renders you with.If skiing is your jam, Gulmarg is the perfect place for you to take a skiing vacation.

With pristine views of nature and the most prospective place to go on a whirlwind adrenaline packed power adventure, Gulmarg is one huge ski resort or can even be addressed as the home of skiing in India that draws attention of all adventurers so unless you experience the feeling of having the hair on the back of your neck stand up, you cannot comprehend the true adrenaline this place emits. With incredible amounts of snow, Gulmarg is not really as cold as it seems but the ski season here runs short, usually from mid january to february end, depending upon the whimsical nature of the climate but the best time to visit is from december end to march with a completely organized plan so that you can enjoy skiing without having to worry about the insignificant nitty gritty details.

The Gulmarg Gondola or the cable car circuit unit takes travellers up to an incredible 4000 metres above sea level height from which a skiing track runs 5 kms down the hills and is truly an exhilarating experience but for adventurers who lookout for the ultimate thrill, the Shark Fin is a place that is deemed to be ideal for powder skiing, and is located at the back of the Mount Apharwat, is a very favoured slope for experts. For the skiing amateurs in town, there are numerous bunny slopes but if someone practices for an entire day, they can access to ski down from the phase 1 at the Apharwat’s base and for intermediate skiers, Mary Shoulder is the perfect base. Only experienced backcountry skiers are allowed to access the pistes and off- pistes of the Sunset peak, Sunrise peak, Jamiah Gulley, East of Trajan Bowl of Apharwat and Monkey hill. As the best place for skiing in India, Gulmarg also fares exceptionally well on many fronts like quality of snow, great road access and lift infrastructure. The best thing about Gulmarg has to be it’s easy accessibility as it takes only 90 minutes from Srinagar to reach Gulmarg by road and ofcourse the famous Kahwa, an exquisite Kashmiri tea that you simply cannot miss on your trip to Gulmarg!

The Indian Army has off-limits the sensitive places like the Line of Control areas adjoining Kashmir, due to the Border’s and local political situations, resulting in being a place where very few people have set their eyes on. But the government of Jammu and Kashmir is steadily opening up these particular areas for tourism. The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism has built guest houses all around in order to encourage tourists to come and enjoy the stunning beauty of these places that mostly remain unseen. Alongside that a very exciting venue has newly opened near Kaman Setu at Kashmir’s Uri by the Indian Army, which consists of a cafeteria that allows you to enjoy wholesome cups of tea along the LoC.

Until now it was an impossible event for any civilian to visit Uri, let alone enjoy a warm cup of tea with the exchange of shells and mortars between India and Pakistan a few months back. But with this initiative of opening a full- fledged cafe taken by the Indian Army, visitors can avail the chance to truly experience how things are on the ground. This initiative followed after the ceasefire agreement announced by the armies of India and Pakistan and led to the opening of the cafe at a time when border relations between the nations are peaceful.

Every travel buff with a niche for unconventional experiences can visit Kaman Post and witness how things really run on the field whilst sipping a warm cup of tea at the cafeteria. Visitors can also take selfies on the bridge after they have had their fair share of snacks and tea from the cafe and also shop for souvenirs to take back home. The LoC trade and travel has been at a major transit point served by the initiative of the Kaman Post.

Home to Asia’s largest Tulip Garden, Srinagar beholds a field of full bloom flowers for only a short span of time during the months of March and April but makes for some serious, vibrant breathtaking views. What was previously known as the Model Floriculture Center is now proclaimed as the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden and is located on the foothills of the Zabarwan Mountain Range at an elevated altitude level of 5600 ft with a stunning overview of the famous Dal Lake in Siraj Bagh alongside being surrounded by the Nishat Bagh and the Chashma Shahi Garden. This garden consists of seven terraces and was built on a sloping ground of terraced fashion dating its origin back to the Mughals back to the 16th century.
